Well, whether there are thoughts or no thoughts, that’s fine.

When one is meditating, if one thinks that one needs to be free of all thoughts and conceptuality, and one clings to that attitude, then more thoughts will come. However, if one abandons that type of thinking and just says, “Well, whether there are thoughts or no thoughts, that’s fine,” and if one remains free of hopes and fears, then one will be able to rest the mind without many thoughts in the mind.
